About Functional Skin Aesthetics
Hi! I’m Ashleigh, Licensed Esthetician, Certified Acne Expert, and the founder of Functional Skin Aesthetics, a bespoke skin care practice in Houston Heights. I started this clinic to share what I love most with clients who value the same: thoughtful self-care, high-quality skin care, advanced treatments, and aging gracefully on your own terms.
My path into aesthetics began unexpectedly. I was working at the front desk of a hotel during college when a conversation about skin care with a guest changed the trajectory of my life. She invited me to visit her practice, and what started as a friendly chat turned into an opportunity: a role as a skincare specialist under one of the most renowned physicians in the country.
For four years, I immersed myself in that world. I curated and managed personalized regimens for patients, worked alongside leading skincare brands, visited their labs, and co-hosted live discussions around product launches. What I found was more of a calling than a career.
After the pandemic, I decided to pivot and join the superyacht industry, where I gained valuable experience in luxury marketing, international client relations, and working with ultra-high-net-worth individuals. This role shaped how I think about hospitality and detail to this day. But I missed the connection and visible impact of helping someone feel better in their own skin, and that clarity is what brought me back.
My treatment room is built on a few non-negotiables:
❋ Constant investment in my education. The aesthetics industry moves quickly. I regularly invest in advanced training and the modalities with real clinical research behind them.
❋ Anticipating your needs. My goal is to anticipate what you need before you have to ask for it, whether that's a small adjustment to your treatment, a product recommendation, or a quieter, more restorative session.
❋ Honest, attentive communication. When you're with me, you have my full and undivided attention. Ask questions. Tell me what's working and what isn't. That openness is what makes progress possible.
Whether you're ready to go straight into treatment or just want to talk through your skin first, I offer both in-person and virtual consultations. There's no pressure to book a service, just a conversation about your skin and what's possible.

Educate holistically. Diet, cosmetics, medications, and lifestyle factors are all part of the conversation.
Provide expert product access. Including specialized Face Reality products formulated to treat acne without clogging pores.
Support consistently. Bi-weekly check-ins and coaching keep your protocol moving forward.
While Face Reality is the foundation of my certification, I draw on multiple professional brands to create the most effective regimen for your skin.
