About Functional Skin Aesthetics

Hi! I’m Ashleigh, Licensed Esthetician and the founder of Functional Skin Aesthetics, a skin care practice in Houston Heights. I started this clinic to share what I love most with clients who value the same: thoughtful self-care, high-quality skin care, advanced treatments, and aging gracefully on your own terms.

My path into aesthetics began unexpectedly. I was working at the front desk of a hotel during college when a conversation about skin care with a guest changed introduced me to the beauty of the aesthetics industry. She invited me to visit her practice, and what started as a friendly chat turned into an opportunity.

For four years, I immersed myself in that world, curating and managing personalized regimens for patients, working alongside leading skincare brands, visiting their labs, and co-hosting live discussions around product launches. What I found was more of a calling than a career.

After the pandemic, I decided to pivot and join the superyacht industry, where I gained valuable experience in luxury marketing, international client relations, and working with ultra-high-net-worth individuals. This role shaped how I think about hospitality and detail to this day. But I missed the connection and visible impact of helping someone feel better in their own skin, and that clarity is what brought me back.

My treatment room is built on a few non-negotiables:

Constant investment in my education. The aesthetics industry moves quickly. I regularly invest in advanced training and the modalities with real clinical research behind them.

Anticipating your needs. My goal is to anticipate what you need before you have to ask for it, whether that's a small adjustment to your treatment, a product recommendation, or a quieter, more restorative session.

Honest, attentive communication. When you're with me, you have my full and undivided attention. Ask questions. Tell me what's working and what isn't. That openness is what makes progress possible.

Whether you're ready to go straight into treatment or just want to talk through your skin first, I offer both in-person and virtual consultations. There's no pressure to book a service, just a conversation about your skin and what's possible.
